The Set Sail corporate pilot challenge 13th - 16th June

This June sees an opportunity for eight businesses to compete with others in a live sailing challenge involving navigational and other tasks around a pre-defined course against an opposing team.

The winning team will be crowned the Set Sail Pilot Challengers 2011.

There are no restrictions on how you comprise your team – the event can be used as a teambuilding exercise, a sports and social event, or for client entertaining. It is guaranteed to be an experience to remember.

The cost to enter is £1000 per team, per boat which includes:

  • 2 hrs sailing on a magnificent boat
  • 12 spaces per boat
  • Crew supper at the Yacht Club (additional supper places available to purchase).
  • Personalised team t-shirts
  • Publicity and team photographs
  • First come first served

All funds help the community within the objectives of the Trust.

The boats are two Bristol Pilot Cutters,  (45ft on deck) and have the look and lines of traditional, wooden and classic boats.

However, the interior is modern and light and designed for comfort. The latest marine electronics and safety equipment have been cleverly integrated into each boat using traditional boatbuilding techniques and materials. The larch hulls and decks sit on English oak frames, from sustainable and renewable resources. They displace 28 tonnes, are safe, solid and capable of sailing anywhere, in any conditions.

Each Guernsey-based voyage will set off from the Marina, with a professional and experienced skipper. The skipper will teach the necessary skills of seamanship to those new to the water, as well as advise more experienced sailors how to get the most out of their boats.

The boats carry the required safety equipment on board and a range of wet weather gear.

Bookings will be taken on a first come first served basis.
